Blu Ray Player Best Setup

If you have recently purchased a blu ray player the first thing that you might have realized is that its not as easy to set up. Its not like your VCR or DVD player that came only with 2 or 3 wires (usually composite). Blu Ray Players come with bundles of connectors which further complicates the setup process for inexperienced users. The reason for this is that blu ray is forcing its new technology on other manufacturers forcing them to rapidly update their interface and technology. Sony is literally forcing other manufacturers to play catch up.

Blu Ray players can be made to work on any TV set but in order to get the full HD experience of blu ray you need the proper viewing equipment. Here I will mention what that equipment is and how to st it up. Ill also be mentioning some of the problems that you may face and how to avoid them.

Like I already mentioned, bu ray players are manufactured to work on any TV no matter how old that Television set is, the only requirements are composite inputs. But watching blu ray on such a TV will be a waste of your blu ray technology, you might as well watch the movie on your VCR. Blu Ray provides HD viewing which can only be enjoyed when viewed on an HD TV connected via an HDMI cable. HDMI is the new standard for transmitting uncompressed digital data from your player to your TV set and stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface. So to enjoy blu ray in all its glory you have to watch it in a resolution for which it was designed, i.e. 1080p and at 24 frames per second. To view the movie at this resolution you need a 1080 resolution TV with an HDMI cable. These do not come cheap so make sure to find the best deals by browsing all of the online shops. Keep an eye out for any discount codes.

Since 1080/24p sets are quite expensive you can instead buy a lower resolution TV such as the recommended 720p resolution. This will not be as good as the 1080/24p but its the next best thing for those that can't afford the higher resolution sets.

Remember when I earlier said that if you have an old TV set your blu ray will connect to it but it won't be good enough. The reason for this is that if your TV does not support blu ray resolution then feeding it the 1080/24p resolution will result in the TV converting that signal to 50Hz or 60Hz. This will cause the picture to have a slight jerky movement or it will appear that your picture is very slightly vibrating. Reading subtitles on such a TV is impossible.

So to sum it all up; to get the best picture from your blu ray player you should have:

* A Television set that can support 1080/24p resolution.
* HDMI inputs.
* HDMI Cables.
Blu Ray will very quickly take over all other technologies and very soon will be used as the only media of entertainment. To keep yourself updated with those developments you can subscribe to my blog: best blu ray ripper and best blu ray maker
